Optimistic or Just Plain Naive





 So it’s Dec 1st and 40 degrees in ND.  What the hell is happening??  Don’t get me wrong, I am okay without the frigid cold, wind and ice but I have to ask myself what will April bring??  And how are we suppose to freeze out this pandemic at these temperatures??  This year is sure one for the books (but what books I am not so sure.). 🥸

🛩🛩 I decided to book us a trip for January because I needed something to look forward to.  I got to work one morning early and had an email from an airline that I could get $39 tickets to Nashville.  $39!!!  Are you kidding me???  How can you afford not to go??  SOOO I get on line and pick some dates and push the button. Didn’t even call Scott.  How could I pass up a deal like that? 

Well.....  Do you want to bring luggage? 👜 OF COURSE I DO!  Have you seen my purse?  I cannot go on vacation for a whole week and not have luggage.  Do you want to reserve your seat? 💺 OF COURSE I DO! If I am going to sit by a weirdo, it’s going to be the one I married.  Do you want rapid check in?  🎟 OF COURSE I DO!  It’s time for me to get away.  Done Done and Done.  

I call Scott and tell him we are going to Nashville and the tickets were only $39 each way so I couldn’t pass it up.  Guess I should have blocked out the real amount before I emailed him the confirmation.  Oops.  But in my mind they were only THIRTY NINE DOLLARS!!💰  Bring on the new year!!!!





Thanksgiving has come and gone.  Different all around.  Only 4 of us for dinner but I made the whole thing because it’s my favorite meal of the year.  AND I had the week off from the gym so what else do you do??  🍹🍺🥂🍗🥩 Eat and Drink.  Chels was home for the week with Bailey so it wasn’t quiet by any means.   We are now dog sitting for this week.  How’s that going you ask?? Well let me tell you.....

Came home today for lunch and to let Bailey out.  As I am getting her treat and bone to put her in the kennel, I notice a gal walking on the side of our house where Bailey was chained.  She had a leash in her hand but no dog on the leash.  SOOOO  I run down and see Bailey nose to nose with a French Bull Dog named Gertie.  Gertie wanted to play, Bailey not so much.  I grabbed her chain and even though I have been weight lifting - WOW - she is one strong dog.  I get her pulled back (after several tries) and turn around just as Gertie the dog runs in my house through the patio door I left open.  And she makes herself at home exploring the house.  I am still holding Bailey so have to send the poor girl in my house to search for her dog....  Once Gertie was found and on her leash, she still wanted to play.  Let’s just say I got my workout in twice today!!!

Can’t wait to see what December brings.  One month until 2021!!!!  AND HOPEFULLY A VACATION!!!

Where the F^*@ did summer go??

  As I am writing this it is almost the end of August and we are taking our home on wheels camping.  This is our 3rd time out (can’t count the countless hours I sat in the driveway in it because I needed  a vacation.) Our first outing was to a country music fest in Karlstad MN.  Appropriately called Kickin Up Kountry.   We went with siblings and outlaws and had a blast.  Naturally we pull up and the camper RIGHT NEXT DOOR is a classmate of mine from high school and his wife.  What are the odds.   AND It was hot out so we all know I was a sweaty mess for 3 days.   You know it’s bad when I wear a cowboy hat AND a t-shirt at the same time.  With an umbrella and a fan.   So not my fashion statement but I plan on wearing it again next year!!!   Saw my first Baja races and more men in bib shorts and cowboy boots than I care to count.  Working on Scott’s wardrobe for next year.😄😀 Our second outing was a staycation.   We camped in our hometown park.  It was so fun.  We couldn’t go home no ma

  OMG.  I can't believe it's June already.  The older I get the faster time goes and the less I seem to do. Sleeping has become one of my favorite pastimes and some nights are better than others. The other morning I had my alarm set really early because I had a meeting and needed to be ON TIME!!  Hate when that happens but that's a whole other rant.  People that show up for appts anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes early….  Not going there. So, my alarm goes off and I don’t want to wake up Scott that early.  I usually turn it off right away, hop out of bed with a smile on my face singing a song but this day I couldn't do it.   My arm was completely numb.  So I flop over and try to grab my phone.  I yank the cord out of the wall and the phone falls under the bed.  I then roll on the floor (literally) to find the phone.  Meanwhile my right arm is somewhere else and I can't find it.   By this time my alarm is getting LOUDER AND LOUDER and I want to shut it off but I need my

Beach Whales and Adorable Dolphins

As I told you in March after my exciting travels to St. Louis, I again got to do some traveling in April.   Scott and I got the opportunity to go to Los Cabos and stay at the Hilton Golf and Beach Resort.  Not going to lie, it was a tough week.    I was nervous about going thinking Scott would get bored easily…..   I was totally wrong.  We were up everyday at 6:30 to get to go and save our chairs by the pool/hot tub/swim up bar.  Then off to breakfast and back to our chairs for my morning “juice”.  My favorite flavors were either strawberry or banana with a tinge of rum.    We met some amazing new friends and one of them showed Scott how to locate the whales that were migrating.  SOOOO, while I sat in my chair sipping my juice and reading, Scott became the “WHALE WHISPERER”.   Kids were all over that.  And adults too.  He would stand in the infinity pool and point to the water.  Not sure there were whales or not but he swears they were out there and his “followers” found them too.   My
