Beauty Comes at a Cost

Some of you know that I really do not like shopping for clothes.  Purses, jewelry and shoes - absolutely but not clothing.  That is why I LOVE to shop right in town.  Easy Peasy and there is usually food and happy hour close by.

SO.....I had a great night out with a friend recently and we talked about everything from kids, to husbands, to jobs, to clothing.  That is where I learned that not only can I buy my clothes in town, I can have a stylist decide what is best for me if I do a “small” questionnaire.  

I go on the website and they have information they want me to fill out about my size, shape, height etc....  (side note - I have told my family in no uncertain terms do they announce my height and weight on the news if I go missing. 🥺 My height has not caught up to my weight yet - I am a late developer.)

I tell them everything about me and what my style is, hit send and sit back and wait.  A couple weeks later I get a box in the mail.  Some of it was spot on and I will admit I kept some pieces.  I did however send back a few and that’s a story in itself.  

I got a pair of “workout” shorts that looked like they came from the wardrobe room from Baywatch!!  UMMMMMM. NO!!!!!

I got a very cute shirt that fit great but it was Camo.   I know many of you look awesome in Camo and wear it quite a bit.  I however DO NOT LOOK GOOD IN CAMO.   I look like Goldie Hawn in Private Benjamin only shorter and not so cute. 😜

I got a great pair of “workout”pants that I wore to the dog park and straight back to the couch.  They seem very durable to me.  😴

Oh yeah...  And it’s so easy to send them back.  I got it all ready and set it on the couch so I could bag it up to mail.  Put it in the bag, sealed it up, emailed them what I was sending back and went to put on socks and shoes to go to the post office.  WELL.......  I couldn’t find my socks.  Hmmmmmm. Guess who mailed the stylist working with me her UNMATCHED (clean) socks????  Yep...  Can’t wait to see what they send me next.   😬

So. Is wearing a mask our new normal??

  As I get ready to go to the Dr for an appointment I find myself searching for the mask that will match what I am wearing.  REALLY??  I guess that shouldn’t surprise those of you that know me at all.  👸🏼👸🏼 I also ate breakfast before I left and normally would check my teeth and make sure my lipstick is spot on BUT I find myself in the kitchen thinking - WHY?  What does it matter if my lipstick is only on part of my lip?  What does it matter if I have bagel crumbs in my teeth?  NO ONE IS GOING TO SEE ME!!!!  Now don’t get me wrong, my eyes and eye brows are spot on.  But the rest....  whatever?👀💋 Found the right mask for the job and headed down the road.  Did the norm when I got to the clinic.  Mask on, sunglasses off, temperature taken, 20 questions answered, gold star sticker telling me I am good to go.  🎖🎖 Since I drank a larger than average coffee on the way, I have to stop at the ladies litter box quick before...

Beach Whales and Adorable Dolphins

As I told you in March after my exciting travels to St. Louis, I again got to do some traveling in April.   Scott and I got the opportunity to go to Los Cabos and stay at the Hilton Golf and Beach Resort.  Not going to lie, it was a tough week.    I was nervous about going thinking Scott would get bored easily…..   I was totally wrong.  We were up everyday at 6:30 to get to go and save our chairs by the pool/hot tub/swim up bar.  Then off to breakfast and back to our chairs for my morning “juice”.  My favorite flavors were either strawberry or banana with a tinge of rum.    We met some amazing new friends and one of them showed Scott how to locate the whales that were migrating.  SOOOO, while I sat in my chair sipping my juice and reading, Scott became the “WHALE WHISPERER”.   Kids were all over that.  And adults too.  He would stand in the infinity pool and point to the water.  Not sure there were whales or not ...

  OMG.  I can't believe it's June already.  The older I get the faster time goes and the less I seem to do. Sleeping has become one of my favorite pastimes and some nights are better than others. The other morning I had my alarm set really early because I had a meeting and needed to be ON TIME!!  Hate when that happens but that's a whole other rant.  People that show up for appts anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes early….  Not going there. So, my alarm goes off and I don’t want to wake up Scott that early.  I usually turn it off right away, hop out of bed with a smile on my face singing a song but this day I couldn't do it.   My arm was completely numb.  So I flop over and try to grab my phone.  I yank the cord out of the wall and the phone falls under the bed.  I then roll on the floor (literally) to find the phone.  Meanwhile my right arm is somewhere else and I can't find it.   By this time my alarm is getting LOU...
